 4.0 8/16 WAY DEMON TESTS
        4.1 Reset Test
The value 0 is written to the board STATUS, this status is then
verified . The controller is then reset. The STATUS register
is then checked for the OFFLINE condition to verify a sucessful
             reset.
        4.2 Shared Memory Test
The shared memory is the written to and read from with the
following test patterns: 0xFFFFh, 0xAAAAh and 0x5555h. The
controller is then reset and then checked for sucessful reset.
4.3 Interrupt Request and Rearm Test
The 8/16 Way controller is put into ONLINE state and verified.
The INTERRRUPT REQUEST and REQUEST DELAY are checked for zero
values and the interrupt service rorutine is reset. The value 1
is written to the INTERRUPT REQUEST register and the interrupt
service routine is verified for execution. The Rearm register
is then written to and the interrupt sequence is repeated to
             verify execution of the interrupt.
        4.4 NMI test
Read the EXCEPTION CODE register and verify contents of 0.
Write to the NMI. Verify that the EXCEPTION CODE is 1.
Write a 0 to the EXCEPTION CODE and verify that the EXCEPTION
             CODE register is reset.
        4.5 INTERNAL LOOPBACK (POLLED) TEST
The data pattern of 0x00 to 0xffh is transmitted and received
in polled mode and then verified.
        4.6 INTERNAL LOOPBACK (Interrupt) TEST
The data pattern of 0x00 to 0xffh is transmitted and received
in Interrupt mode and then verified.
        4.7 EXTERNAL LOOPBACK (POLLED) TEST
This test requires an external loopback connector (Part number
xxxxxxx ) be connected to the ports of breakout boxes.
        4.8 EXTERNAL LOOPBACK (INTERRUPT) TEST
This test is set-up the same as the privious test
        4.9 XON-XOFF FLOW CONTROL TEST
This test is set up the same as the previous test, the External
loopback test in Polled mode with the addition that X0N-XOFF is
enabled. The transmission of the data is continuous and the
received data is not removed from the queue until after the
receive queue has filled and the XON-XOFF has had to signal the
transmit port to cease transmission. The receive buffer is
then emptied ; the transmission and the receive data is allowed
to continue to completion. The receive data is then compared to
transmitted data to verify that no data was lost.
        4.10 DTR-CTS FLOW CONTROL TEST
This test is set up the same as the previous test, the XON-XOFF
Flow control test with the addition that DTR_CTS is enabled.
        4.11 ERROR INTERPRETATION.
