This CD contains patches that enable I/O options on OCTANE systems to function correctly. All of the patches on the CD should be installed.

Notes about the products

• patchSG0002305 -6.4 SCSI rollup- This patch contains bug fixes for O200, O2000 and OCTANE and has performance improvements for both the on-board and optional SCSI interfaces.
• patchSG0002173 - Hinv rollup for 6.4- This patch contains bug fixes for IRIX 6.4- This patch is applicable to all hardware platforms supported by IRIX 6.4 operating system.
• patchSG0002073 - SCSI tape.rollup peripheral- This patch contains bug fixes for all hardware platforms supported by IRIX 6.4.
• patchSG0001978 -6.4 kernel rollup- This patch contains important operating system bug fixes and performance improvements, especially for systems with optional I/O products.
• patchSG0002110:The patch contains bug fixes for the FDDI board in general, also explictly adds support for the CDDI version of the board (aka UTP).
• patchSG0002015 -icrash rollup #1 for IRIX 6.4- This patch makes icrash compatible with patch 1978.
• patchSG0002061 -PCI Rollup- This patch contains various PCI and XIO bus related bug fixes, and is mandatory for patch 1924.

Installation Information

• This CD can be installed on OCTANE systems running IRIX 6.4. It should not be installed on other systems.
• Some of this software may be pre-installed if you are purchasing a new system after the software release date. These products will appear as 'same version' or 'older version' in Software Manager.
• To view the release notes for patches, open a unix shell and type:

  cd /CDROM <Enter> 
  CDgrelnotes <Enter> 
  

• To install this software:
  1. When you are finished browsing this README, click Dismiss.
     • If you need to refer back to this README, press the Lookup button.
  2. Press Start. The installation tools will automatically mark for installation all the patches that are appropriate for your system.
  3. When the installation is complete, select Quit from the File menu.
  4. Eject the CDROM. Click on the CDROM drive icon on your desktop. With the CD drive icon selected, hold down your right mouse button. Select Eject CDROM from the Desktop Menu. Remove the CD from the drive tray.
  5. Restart the system. Choose Restart System from the System toolchest on your desktop. The system will restart after you press the OK button on the subsequent dialog.
