Glide™
3dfx's Glide™ API offers developers the most direct, high performance access to 3dfx's award winning Voodoo based 3D accelerators.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS SOFTWARE COMES WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY OR SUPPORT, EITHER FROM 3DFX OR FROM OMNI.
More information about this software can be obtained on Omni Development's Glide™ page.
Requirements
This software requires Mac OS X Server for PowerPC and a Voodoo2 3D accelerator. This port has been tested with older G3 machines and with new Blue&White machines. Other hardware might work, but hasn't been tested.
Installation
You must install the Glide™ package as the system administrator (root), since it installs system drivers to talk to your Voodoo2 card. To install, unpack the .tar file to create a Glide.mpkg package (this happens automatically if you have OpenUp installed), then double-click on the package to install it.
Once you have finished the installation, reboot your machine.
Resources
You can send feedback about this Glide™ port to Omni at glide-port@omnigroup.com, but once again, please note that there is absolutely no support for this driver.
