This is the default control panel and contains the most often used set of controls. The control panel will always float above the currently displayed image and can never be obscured when large images are being displayed.

Selected Image File - Single clicking on a listed file will select the file. Double clicking on a file will select and display the image. If the Advanced Control Panel is displayed single clicking on a file will also cause the image to be displayed in the preview well. |

Drag and Drop Source - Drag the image to the Index Maker or to external applications such as a directory in the File Viewer, the desktop Trash Can, or anyplace which accepts image file names. Image files dragged to destinations outside of the Slider application will be removed from the loaded image list. |

Slide Show Delay Control- Use the slider to control the amount of delay between images displayed during a slide show. The amount of delay increases as the control knob is moved from the left to the right. The amount of delay is in seconds and can be adjusted between 5 and 120 (2 minutes.) |

Slide Show Delay Value - Shows the amount of delay in seconds between images displayed during a slide show. This value is changed using the Slide Show Delay control described above. |

Index Size - These fields display the width and height in pixels of the overall size of the thumbnail index image which is being created. The overall size is changed by resizing the Index Maker window itself. |

Thumbnail Size - These fields display the width and height in pixels of the maximum size of each thumbnail image on the index. The size of the thumbnail image is controlled by resizing the thumbnail within the Index Maker window. Actual images may not use all of the space available for a thumbnail as they are scaled proportionately to fit within this size. |

Vertical Border Width - This field displays the width in pixels of the vertical borders between thumbnail images on the index. The width of the vertical border is controlled by resizing it within the Index Maker window. |

Horizontal Border Height - This field displays the height in pixels of the horizontal borders between thumbnail images on the index. The height of the horizontal border is controlled by resizing it within the Index Maker window. |

Background Color Well - Use this color well to change the background color used when creating thumbnail image indices. The Background Color is displayed on any space on the thumbnail index which lies outside of the thumbnail images themselves and the borders which surround them. |

Thumbnail Color Well - Use this color well to change the background color of thumbnails on the index. The Thumbnail Color is displayed around thumbnail images which do not use all of the available space available to them after being placed on the index. |

Border Color Well - Use this color well to change the color of the vertical and horizontal borders surrounding the thumbnail images on the index. |

Include Image Name Button - Check this button to include the name of each thumbnail image on the index. |

Fill Button - Use this button to automatically fill empty thumbnail spaces in the index with images from the loaded image list. This process will begin filling with the currently selected image in the list and proceed down the list, wrapping around to the beginning if necessary, until either all empty thumbnail spaces have been filled or until the starting image is reached. |

Save Button - This button will save a thumbnail index as a "tiff" image. The standard Save Panel is used to allow the specification of the folder and file name under which the index image is to be saved. Once saved, the newly created index will be automatically loaded, added to the loaded file list, and displayed. |
The Mini Control Panel is useful when working with a computer that which has a limited size screen such as a laptop. As with the Basic Control Panel it will float above the displayed image however it's small size will obscure less of the image in the event that the image takes up most of the available screen.
The Mini Control Panel can be selected through the Controls menu or by pressing the Close button on the Basic, Advanced, or Thumb Nail Control Panels.
