Push the button (Fig. 1 (E)) to open Select File Panel. In order to add files to the scenario, select them on Select File Panel, and then push "Add" button.
You can remove files, and can change the order of files in the scenario. You can also mark files in the scenario not to displayed temporarily.
Both on a scenario window and a select file panel, you can open a file by double clicking its name.
In order to make a presentation with ToyProjector, you have to make a document which is a list of text files and image files you want to display. This document is called Scenario. A scenario is saved as a file with suffix "toyproj".Each entry of scenario which has text or image is called Sheet.
A scenario file should be saved in the same or ancestor directory that contains text files and image files. The reason is that you could make a presentation even on other machine by copying the whole directory. In order to create new scenario, click "Documents / New..." of the menu. Then, a panel titled "Create New Doc" is displayed. Select a directory and input new file name here. Suffix is appended automatically.
Note that a scenario file newly created will automatically deleted if nothing is saved.

Kinds of files ToyProjector can display are described below.Details are explained in Usage of image files, Usage of plain text, and Usage of RTF text.
- Image Files
- On OPENSTEP, tiff and eps are available.
- On Mac OS X Server, moreover, jpeg, gif, pict, bmp, and png are available.
- If applications which provide image conversion filter services are installed, various kind of image files could be used. If ToyViewer has been installed, for example, bie(jbig), pcx, pcd, and mag are available.
- RTF and RTFD files
- Plain text files
Icon of directory displayed on Select File Panel represents directory currently selected. Dragging icons of files from File Viewer to this directory icon, you can copy the files into the directory.
Command-dragging moves files, and Control-dragging makes symbolic links. Give attention to the shape of mouse cursor. In order to remove files, select them on the panel and push "Remove" button. They are moved to recycler.
You can copy or move files using File Viewer; in that case, you must update manually the contents of the browser by pushing button "update".
Sheets displayed in a scenario window can be selected by mouse operation. You can copy, paste, cut, or delete each line. Keyboard operation of copy, paste, and cut is Command-c, Command-v, and Command-x correspondingly.
Delete operation is done using the menu or button (F) in Fig. 1 on the scenario window. This operation deletes only the sheets from the scenario, but does not remove file itself.
Note: In case that some files in a scenario are not used temporarily, use skip instead of delete. You can drag a line to other position.
Files added by Select File Panel are inserted after currently selected line.
Double clicking file name displayed in a scenario window or Select File Panel, you can open the file. The application used to open the file is decided according to the setting of Workspace. You can instantly modify files in a scenario with this feature.
Each sheets in a scenario is numbered in order.
By double clicking the field of the number, "--" is displayed instead of the number. Double clicking switches display between number and "--".Sheets with "--" are not used during the presentation, that is, they are skipped. If you don't want to delete entries which are not used temporarily, try this feature.
After repeated editing or modification of the scenario, some files in the scenario may be lost accidentally. You can check the existence of files in the scenario by pushing button (G) in Fig. 1. However, files specified to be skipped are not checked.
The field of number displays "EE" to represent that the file of the entry does not exist no longer.
Each line of a scenario has fields for title and memo.Input title or explanation of the file into the title field. I would like to recommend to fill title field of important files. Because file names do not have enough information, we should be confused during editing, or maybe during presentation.
You can also display string in a title field as title or caption of an image file (See Usage of image files in detail). Except for this case, strings in title fields are not displayed on the screen.Strings in memo fields are not displayed on the screen at all. You may use this field as you like.
If your presentation is relatively short, you could save all files used in the presentation in one directory. In case that your presentation is larger, however, it would be useful to save files into subdirectories which represent sections of the presentation. Then, you could construct, edit, or reassemble your presentation more easily. Of course, you can use subdirectories as you like, for example, you can make a subdirectory for image files only.
